Wacker Announces April 1 Price Hike, Global Silicone Cost Sur

On March 24, Wacker Chemie officially notified customers of a comprehensive price increase for its silicone product line, effective April 1, 2026. This marks the company’s second major price adjustment this year, following an earlier hike in January. The adjustment covers a full range of products, including silicone fluids, sealants, and specialty elastomers.

In its official statement, Wacker attributed the increase to “significant rises in energy, raw material, and global logistics costs” exacerbated by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The company also plans to close its 145,000-ton/year siloxane plant in Barry, UK, in mid-2026, reducing European capacity by nearly one-third. This global supply contraction is expected to continue supporting domestic silicone price increases.
