Export Tax Rebate Cancellation Looms, Enterprises Rush Shipme
Customs data shows that China’s primary polysiloxane exports reached 107,800 tons in January–February 2026, a 31% year-on-year increase. The surge is attributed to a “rush-shipment” effect ahead of the April 1, 2026 cancellation of the 13% VAT export rebate for primary polysiloxane products.
Major export destinations included South Korea, India, Turkey, the U.S., and Vietnam, collectively accounting for nearly 50% of total exports. Domestic enterprises are actively diversifying into emerging markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America to reduce reliance on traditional markets and mitigate policy impacts. While the rebate cancellation will pressure short-term profits, it is expected to accelerate industry upgrading toward high-value-added products.
