Daqin Chemical Raises Silicone Sealant Prices 5%–8% Effective March 24 Amid Mounting Cost Pressures
Daqin Chemical, a leading domestic manufacturer of architectural silicone sealants and industrial adhesives, officially announced and implemented a comprehensive price increase of 5% to 8% across its full lineup of silicone-based products starting March 24, 2026, becoming the latest major downstream producer to pass rising upstream costs on to end-users. In an official notice sent to distributors and clients, the company cited a confluence of cost pressures, including sharp hikes in raw material prices (such as 107 glue, crosslinking agents, and fillers), surging energy and utility costs, and elevated logistics and transportation expenses, as the primary drivers behind the adjustment. The price hike covers all standard architectural sealants, weatherproofing adhesives, and general-purpose industrial silicone products, while customized high-performance formulations may see slightly larger increases based on material costs.
This move by Daqin Chemical aligns with a broader industry trend of coordinated pricing to restore profit margins, as downstream manufacturers have long borne the brunt of rising input costs without commensurate price adjustments. Over the past six months, upstream silicone intermediates have risen by more than 25%, while labor and environmental compliance costs have also increased significantly, squeezing profit margins for sealant makers to historic lows. Many small and medium-sized sealant manufacturers have already scaled back production or exited the market due to inability to absorb costs, making the price adjustment a necessary step to ensure sustainable operations and product quality. Daqin Chemical emphasized that it has made every effort to absorb costs internally before implementing the hike and will continue to prioritize product quality and after-sales service to maintain customer trust. Industry observers note that more downstream silicone product manufacturers are expected to follow suit with similar price adjustments in the coming weeks, as the cost pass-through cycle accelerates across the entire supply chain.
